ENG, William Sek Fon was born in Canton City, China, and arrived in Canada at the age of 13 His teen years were spent assisting his parents, his brothers at the Beacon Café in Sidney. As with all his endeavours, he worked hard to put himself through school to become a Chartered Accountant. Willie is remembered for his charismatic, generous spirit, his love of people and his business acumen. In addition to advising his many clients, Willie was actively developing his own portfolio that included Real Estate Development and other ventures. He had a keen sense of community, demonstrated by his involvement in the Victoria Chinatown Lions Club, and the Victoria Chinese Commerce Association.

During his leisure time, Willie loved to play golf and was a long time member at Victoria’s Uplands Golf Course. All of these activities earned him a wide cross section of friends from all ethnic and economic backgrounds and today some of those friends are putting their energies into directing the WELF supported by the Willie Eng Classic Golf Tournament.
